Art. 13 Law n. 675/96 - Interested People Rights In relation to the use of personal information the person concerned has the right to:
a) know, through free access to the register in which article 31, comma 1, letter a), the existence of the use of personal information that regards him/her; b) (abrogated); c) obtain, in the owner or responsible’s responsibility, without delay: 1) the confirmation of the existence or lack of personal information that regards him/her, even if not yet registered, and the communication in intelligible form of the same information and their origin, and also the logic and purposes on which the use is based; the request can be renewed, save the existence of reasonable purposes, with an interval not less than ninety days; 2) the cancellation, transformation in anonymous form or the block of information used in violation to the law, included those that it is not necessary the conservation in relation to the purposes for which the information had been collected o used afterwards; 3) the update, or rather the straightening out, if there were to be interest, the integration of the information; 4) the statement that the operations of which the numbers 2) and 3) have been brought to knowledge, even regarding their content, about those which the information has been communicated or diffused to, except in the case in which such fulfillment makes so that the unproportioned methods manifested respected to the safeguard of rights; d) object, in whole or in part, for legitimate reasons, to the use of personal information that concerns him/her, even if they are relevant to the purpose of the collecting of it; e) object, in whole or in part, to the use of personal information that concerns him/her, provided for commercial information or mailing of publicity material or direct selling even or rather for the completion of interactive market research or commercial communication and to be informed by the owner, not beyond the moment in which the information has been communicated or diffused, of the possibility to exercise such right. 2. For each request in which comma 1, letter c), number 1), can be requested to the interested person, where the confirmed existence of information that concerns him/her doesn’t result, a contribution expense, not superior to the costs that were effectively faced, according to the rules and before the established limits from the regulation in which article 33, comma 3. 3. The rights in which comma 1 refers to the personal information concerning deceased people can be exercised by anyone who is interested. 4. In the exercise of rights of which comma 1 the interested person can appoint, by writing, delegate o proxy to physical persons or to associations. 5. The norms on professional secrecy stay the same for professional journalists, to a limited extent to the news source."
